The Glendale City Council will vote
on two land purchase agreements with the Pendergast Family for land around
University of Phoenix stadium during the upcoming meeting on October 13. The
agreement(s) call for the city to purchase 76.07 acres at the SEC of 95th
Ave & Bethany Home Road for $15,526,542 and 22.53 acres at the SWC of 91st
& Maryland Avenue’s for $6,812,106. The total purchase price of $22,338,648
represents $226,558 per acre for the two lots totaling 98.6 acres. The
agreements call for a closing date of November 16, 2015 and a two year holding period
