City of Litchfield Park Acquires Long-Disputed 17 Acres

Map of Subject 16.67 Acres and Surrounding Area
Nevada-based investors Dragon and Crane have finally let go of the nearly 17 acres of land just north of the northeast corner of Litchfield Road and Wigwam Boulevard. The city purchased the land for $2.868 million or $168,720 per acre. The land, located just north of the Litchfield Park City Hall and south of the city’s two largest golf courses, has been long sought after for purposes of developing a new city center. Plans for the city center have been in the works for almost a decade1.

Dragon and Crane were also owners of Scout Park just northeast of the transacting land, which was subject to a court order late 2014 condemning the property and granting ownership to the city for a price of $985,000.
